Job Stress Levels doubled in Ireland in last Five Years

A new ESRI study, funded by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), finds that job stress doubled among employees in Ireland from 8 per cent in 2010 to 17 per cent in 2015.  The report is based on the European Working Conditions Survey which was  carried out in 2010 and 2015. It identified these top 4 issues associated with job stress:

  1. Emotional demands
  2. Time pressure
  3. Bullying, harassment, violence, discrimination etc.
  4. Long working hours

Time pressure and long working hours are key factors. We are not surprised as our clients have been telling us this. We have seen an increase in time related stress ourselves this past year.
